I am wondering how people liked the way it ended. I don't want to say much about this because it could be a spoiler, but I felt sad. Maybe just because I was saying goodbye to an old friend by this time--the friend being the book itself. What do you think?

M…moreIf i can relate but not comapre, it with war and peace of leo tolstoy in terms of what the author actually meant to write but ended up writing with. Mr. Seth added much more to the actual theme of 'a suitable boy' with socio-political happenings around 1951-52. A lot of social aspects were widely discussed, but the beauty is it is well researched content. Talking details of shoe making to types of literature across timelines to backstage political happenings of post independence. Overall its a great book, we need to be patient through first 300 pages as there are lot of character introductions and once that settles in stories reveal simultaneously. I suggest you to read the book. (less)

What are some of the similar books? I need a similar book once I finish this one. I can think of, Ware and Peace, Bleak House, Middlemarch, In search of lost time. I have read all those. They are close, but not really like A suitable Boy.
